Poor Baby Girl

SO this is what happens when it's finally a nice warm day and the puppy and the baby get to go outside and play. Cody got a little too excited and ran Brenna over from behind and she did a nose plant straight into the driveway. Jason brought her in the house and all I saw was blood and my precious girl crying all these huge tears. I got a cold wet washcloth and a Popsicle and all was fine in a matter of moments. So here is Brenna's first boo-boo of the year. Poor thing!

Garage Sale

Well, we had our Garage Sale this past weekend and sold a TON! We didn't even put it in the paper, just 1 sign at the end of the road. Mom and Dad's place is just off the main drag so we had a bunch of people stop by. The garage was packed when we open Friday morning. I had a bunch of Brenna's clothes hanging on 2 rods, and 2 tables piled high. I'd say over half went. I had about 50 masks...gone, Dad's puzzles...gone, all my butler stuff...GONE! It was crazy. We honestly didn't know if it'd even be worth opening up on Saturday, so mom and I scrounged around for more stuff...and guess what? GONE!
Christine brought over a few things and a bunch of Jaden's clothes. It was a bummer we didn't have them on Friday because I had at least 5 different people asking for boy stuff. She did sell a good amount on Saturday (we were marking them while people were looking at them). So, we decided to do it again this Saturday since it's already all set up.

Total for 1 1/2 days was just shy of $500....whoa, that's crazy!

Pictures of Brenna

Our precious little boo.
She has such neat features that capture beautifully on film. From her big Doe eyes to her tiny porcelain doll lips. It's no wonder that all I do is stare at her every moment I get.

I'm Back

OK, I wanted to leave that other post up there for a few days so most people got a chance to check it out. That and the fact that I've been sick and really have had no energy for ANYTHING. I've got that stupid cold thing we're I cough so hard that it makes my eyes water and my head hurt and all I really want to do it lie down on a soft comfy pillow to rest my poor aching head. Feel bad for me yet? Ha...I've been trying to ignore it and keep doing what I need to do, but I think it's taking over. Oh well, this too shall pass, I just hope it doesn't completely wipe me out in the process.

Big Garage sale this weekend. Mom and I are having one and I can't wait to get rid of all kinds of junk...oh, I mean really cool stuff that other people want to buy. When we moved, I had packed up a bunch of bins that I knew I wanted to get rid of. It's been 3 years now and definitely time to do it. I also went through all of Brenna's old clothes and have a ton to put in there. If any of you had seen my Daughter's closet when she was first born....we surely did not have a problem finding something for her to wear. I kept a bunch of the one's we really liked on her and fit well so if this next one is a girl, she'll still have plenty to choose from. As I go from room to room I keep finding things to get rid of. I may be a little too excited and if my poor dog doesn't watch out I just may put a tag on her and send her over to my Mom's.

Ugh- it's been an odd day at work today. I honestly don't know where these people are coming from but man has it been a challenge. I am ready to just head home and see my precious boo. She has a way of just making all the craziness go away. I get so excited when I go to pick her up and she comes running to me and says "hi" in her cute little voice. It reminds me of the days picking up my Jake Jake and hearing him yell at the top of his lungs "My Shannie's here, my Shannie's here" I love that. It's amazing how something so simple can make you forget all the crummy things that have happened during the day. The excitement they have to see you and the little arms wrapped tight around your neck when they give you a hug. ::sigh:: it's the best!!!

OK...because I'm all emotional now. I need to finish up a few things before heading home. I promise I'll get some pictures on here soon as many have asked me to. Probably tonight when Brenna goes to bed since Jason will be gone playing softball.

Welcome Family and Friends

Welcome Family and Friends to our blog site. This is where you'll be able to get updated info on how we are doing down in Iowa. To start you off with some news....

BRENNA'S GOING TO BE A BIG SISTER!!!!

Yup, that's right, Brenna is well on her way to becoming a Big Sister. We are expecting our newest addition right around Christmas time and what a wonderful gift it will be. We hope that you enjoy our blog and come back to visit often. Talk to you all soon!!

No cards

OK, so the cards that I was going to send out to tell everyone about the baby....well, I'm not going to do them. Time has gotten away from me and now when I look at what all I would have to do to get them done...ugh. So...I will be posting a big ol sign on here and then Jason and I will be calling/e-mailing our friends and family to have them check out our blog. I'm guessing that if you're reading this now, you're just getting over the initial joy/shock/excitement of the news that we'll be adding to our family. I do hope you will come back to visit this site often as we'll be updating just about every day. I'm new to the "blog world" but I'm really enjoying it. Plus this is a great way to check in and see what is going on with us. Hope to see you around!

MMMmmmmm fruit....

I just can't get enough of it for some reason. I went through the same thing when I was pregnant with Brenna. It's not that I really "crave" it, but once I get a bite of some....watch out, I'll eat every last piece of it. So here I sit, about 10 feet from our break room and there is a HUGE bowl of fruit (amongst other goodies like brownies, chips and dip, meatballs) and it's taking every last bit of me not to just grab the whole bowl and hide out in my room. Would that be wrong? Would anyone really notice with all the chocolate that is available out there? I mean, I'd leave the rest there for them, it doesn't interest me at all....but oh the fruit. My mouth is watering as I'm typing this.....the watermelon....the strawberries.....the pineapples.....OH THE PINEAPPLES. OK, I might have to go get just a little more. If only they knew I was pregnant, maybe they'd hand over a big spoon and tell me to have at it.

Due Date change

OK, so I had always felt that I wasn't as far along as I should be according to my period. I've been off the pill for several months, in fact it's almost been a year. I always kept a mental note on when about I'd be ovulating since we were trying to somewhat avoid getting pregnant until March of this year. Not that we were totally preventing, we just were not really trying until March. Anyway, Once we said OK, for sure lets work on the baby making thing, I tried to remember back as to how long it was between my periods. Up until I had Brenna, I was VERY regular - 28 days to the day, but I was also on Birth control. It seams to me that the time between periods the last few months were getting further and further apart. Jan to Feb was like 31 days, and Feb to March was like 34 or so. Now I wasn't charting, temping or doing any of that, because in all honesty - Jason and I are as fertile as they come, and we are truly Blessed by that, so I had no worries that I'd get pregnant when the time was right.

So - after that big long intro - according to my period and a general idea of a due date, I should be 8w 1d. I have been waiting until the baby was big enough to check via U/S to get a better idea of how far along I was. I had in the back of my mind that I was about a week off (so I'd be like 7w 1d. According to my U/S today - I charted as 7w 3d (by Crown Rump and Gestational Sac Measurements) so I'm going to go with that. I changed my ticker on the side to the new date.

Although, I'm a little sad that I'm not 8 weeks yet, I feel like I just gained another week with this precious one and I'm lucky to have the extra time with him/her.

I caved

Ok, so Jason and I have been planning on waiting until after I was 8 weeks to tell everyone about the baby. I wanted to tell my Parents before my Mom headed to Minnesota, but Jason convinced me to wait...ok fine we'll tell everyone when she gets back. By the way, she comes back May 8th...that's still like a week away...ugh.

So, low and behold I get an e-mail from my sister-in-law that she's working on some Genealogy stuff and needs the following information from us.
Will you please fill these out for you and your family (spouse and kids)?

Full name
Date of Birth
Height (for children under 10 don't worry about this one)
Build (average, slim, muscular, curvy, etc)
hair (color), eye (color)
Skin (fair, olive, easily burns, etc)
Health
Education/Certifications
Occupation

so I filled out all the info for myself, Jason and Brenna. I then asked Jason's permission to hint to these guys and he said sure, he'd love to hear what they say. So, I listed the following
Baby Anderson sometime mid December 2008
right now - about the size of a sesame seed
glob - is that a kind of build?
hair - none yet, eyes- they're just forming
skin - in the process of making it
health, getting better every day
education - learning how to become a fetus
occupation - giving mama heartburn

I tell you what...it took all of 10 minutes before Sabrina called. I had to laugh. The first words out of her mouth? "so when were you going to tell us?" I explained that we were actually going to wait another week, but the opportunity came up and I had to spill the news. I was still talking to her when Craig got home, he read right past it at first, then said congratulations.

So, there....I gave in. Sorry to Mom and Dad and all the others, that they found out before you, but I really was planning on telling everyone at the same time. Now, if I can just avoid eye contact with anyone for the next week so I don't get tempted again.
